Mad Ants Fall at Home to the Erie BayHawks

FORT WAYNE, IN - The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, fell at home in a close contest to the Erie BayHawks 90-85 Sunday, November 29th at Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum.

In a game that began with the two teams sharing turns of the lead, resulting in four first quarter ties, it was the Mad Ants who found themselves on top at halftime, 54-46. Marcus Simmons led the team with 14 first half points. Rakeem Christmas matched teammate Walter Lemon Jr., who came off the bench, with 9 points each. After the game hit a tie late in the third quarter, the score began developing into more of a consistent battle for the late advantage. At the two minute mark, the BayHawks would take that lead and not look back. Simmons went on to lead the Mad Ants with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Christmas and Lemon Jr. remained in a tie with 13 points each.

For the BayHawks, Jordan Sibert led his team with 20 points, while Melvin Ejim followed 18 of his own.

The Mad Ants return to their road schedule for a Wednesday, December 2nd matinée with the Westchester Knicks at 11:00 a.m. at the Westchester Community Center. The team returns home Friday, December 4th to host the Canton Charge in an early season rematch, tipping off at 7:30 p.m. at Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum.
