Indiana Mad Ants News Release
FORT WAYNE, IN (March 3, 2015) - The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, fell at home, Tuesday, March 3rd to the Austin Spurs 108-99 at the Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum.
The game started out quickly in the Mad Ants' favor, with the abundant energy present in the return of Matt Bouldin, a key factor to the Mad Ants Championship run last April. However, the Spurs would begin to challenge the Mad Ants as the end of the first quarter approached, as well as the duration of the second quarter into half. The Mad Ants would go into the locker room trailing 61-54. Andre Emmett led with 16 early points and Trey McKinney-Jones put in 9 of his own.
The Mad Ants came out of the lock room after half, challenging the Spurs' lead and eventually cutting it down to 1 late in the third quarter. Entering the fourth quarter, the Spurs would eventually run away with the single digit lead, creating a double digit reassurance margin that they ended their night on. Emmett would again, lead all scorers with 30 points. CJ Fair followed with 15 points and 7 rebounds and McKinney-Jones posted 13 of his own.
For the Spurs, Kyle Anderson ended the night with 29 points and 7 rebounds. Orlando Johnson recorded 27 points of his own.
