
Mad Ants Acquire Downey

Fort Wayne, IN (February 2, 2012) - The Mad Ants have acquired Devan Downey from the available player pool and have waived point guard Tory Jackson due to an injury suffered this week in practice.
Downey is a 5'9" point guard out of the University of South Carolina. He played overseas last season in Turkey, Croatia, and France. As a senior at South Carolina he averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 assists per game. He was selected to the 1st Team All-SEC all three years at South Carolina and started his career at Cincinnati where he was named to the Big East All-Rookie team.
Downey will join the team tonight at the Memorial Coliseum as the Mad Ants take on the Maine Red Claws in a 7:00pm game.
