
Mad Ants Acquire Amida Brimah from Austin
August 30, 2019 - NBA G League (G League) - Fort Wayne Mad Ants News Release
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, presented by Lutheran Health Network, the NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, announced today they have acquired the returning player rights to center Amida Brimah from Austin in exchange for the returning player rights to forward Jordan Barnett.
This trade is not subject to a physical.
Brimah averaged 8.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in 23.3 minutes per contest in 47 games with Austin last season. The University of Connecticut product started in eight games as well last season.
The 6-foot-10 center most recently played for the Brooklyn Nets at MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019.
Brimah spent the 2017-18 season with Austin guiding the Spurs to the NBA G League Championship, averaging 6.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and a league-leading 2.6 blocks over 48 games. Brimah was also named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team following the season.
He played four seasons (2013-17) at UConn and was a member of the 2014 NCAA Championship team.
