
MacIver, Vigo and Lucas Lead Sweets to Game Two Win

WALLA WALLA, WASH- The Walla Walla Sweets (27-22) tied the series with the Wenatchee Applesox (18-32) with a 6-1 win on Wednesday night.
The Sweets scored first on an RBI double by Nick Vigo (Cal State Monterey Bay) in the third.
In the fifth, the Sweets tacked on three more runs. Vigo knocked in the first run with a sacrifice fly and Willie MacIver (Washington) slugged a two-run double to dead-center field to make it 4-0 Sweets.
Wenatchee scored on a bases loaded double play in the seventh, but the Sweets countered with MacIver's second RBI double of the night.
Coby Kauhaahaa (Cal State Fullerton) added another run in the eighth with an RBI single.
Easton Lucas (Pepperdine) struck out a season-high nine in five innings. He picked up his seventh win as well to extend the Sweets' single season record. He has a Sweets' all-time record eight wins now as well.
The Sweets and the Applesox will play tomorrow in the final home game of the 2016 season for the Sweets at Borleske Stadium at 7:05 P.M. Walla Walla will send Chris Murphy (San Diego) to the hill.
