BILOXI, MS. - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced an additional roster move that affects the Shuckers' roster prior to Sunday's 5:10 p.m. contest against the Mobile BayBears at MGM Park
SUMMARY:
- Parker Berberet, C, transferred to Biloxi from rookie Helena
- Brandon Macias, INF, placed on the 7-day DL
Berberet, 26, was transferred to the Helena roster on April 28 after just two at-bats this season for the Shuckers, going 1-for-2. Over his six-year career, the backstop has a .251 career average with 20 home runs and 130 RBIs in 329 games. Defensively, the 2011 draft pick has thrown out 36 percent of attempted base stealers.
Macias, 27, heads to the disabled list with a .188 batting average with two homers and nine RBIs. The native of Flagstaff, Ariz. became the first Shuckers' player to hit a home run in consecutive games with long balls on May 10 and 11 against the Jacksonville Suns.
Biloxi and Mobile wrap up a six-game series Sunday at MGM Park. RHP Brooks Hall (1-0, 3.86) makes his second start of the year for the Shuckers, while RHP Luke Irvine (0-1, 11.25) gets the call for the BayBears. First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m., with coverage starting at 4:50 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.
Sunday features McDonald's Family Fun Day and Military Appreciation Day, with Shuckers' players sporting special jerseys for the contest.
The promotions continue on Tuesday night with Gautier and Vancleave Community Night, Double Play Thursday $2 ballpark favorites on Thursday, Biloxi Shuckers T-Shirt Giveaway, presented by the Mississippi National Guard on Friday, June 3rd and another Post-Game Fireworks Show on Saturday, June 4th.
