PEARL, Miss. - The Jacksonville Suns (23-26) defeated the Mississippi Braves (22-28) by a 2-0 score at Trustmark Park in fifth and final of the five game series on Sunday afternoon.

Suns starter Patrick Johnson (2-1) turned in six scoreless innings to get the win, while Braves starter Victor Mateo (0-1) took the loss. Suns reliever Raudel Lazo completed the shutout with a scoreless ninth to earn his second save of the year.

Suns outfielder Moises Sierra blasted a two-run homer over the left field wall to give Jacksonville a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning, and that proved to be the final score. Sierra has now hit safely in the last 10 games for the Suns, and has homered in back-to-back games.

The win gave Jacksonville a third straight series win, as the Suns took three out of five games against the Braves in this series. Avery Romero had the lone two-hit game for the Suns, going 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Suns will bus back to Jacksonville and will rest on Monday, before starting a six-game series with the Montgomery Biscuits on Tuesday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen to the game on the Suns Baseball Network, beginning at 1:45 p.m. with the pregame show "Suns On Deck" on FM 102.3 The Beach, the TuneIn Radio app, and www.jaxsuns.com.
