M-Braves Win in Extras

Mississippi and Chattanooga played a great one in front of a packed house at Trustmark Park Wednesday night. The 6,014 fans in attendance watched the Braves and Lookouts battle back-and-forth for nine innings before Brandon Jones' walk off single in the tenth. After the fireworks on the field, the fans in attendance got to watch one of the largest fireworks shows in Trustmark Park history to celebrate Independence Day.

Chattanooga got out to an early lead in this one when Adam Rosales, the first batter of the game, hit a 1-2 pitch over the left field wall for a home run. The long-ball was Rosales' first homer of the year and it marked the first time since 8/26/06 that an opposing team's leadoff batter homered to lead off the game. Jay Bruce singled and Paul Janish walked to put runners at first and second for Craig Tatum. Tatum's bloop single scored Bruce from second to give the Lookouts a 2-0 advantage in the first. A walk to Tyrell Godwin loaded the bases and Luis Bolivar's single plated Janish and Tatum to put Chattanooga on top 4-0 in the first.

That four run advantage wouldn't last as the M-Braves put three runs on the board in the bottom of the inning. J.C. Holt led off with a broken-b
