
M-Braves Fall to Lookouts 10-1 in Thursday Night Contest

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves (27-24, 56-65) fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (21-30, 57-63) by a final score of 10-1 in Thursday night's contest at Trustmark Park. Despite the loss, M-Braves catcher, Jonathan Morales posted a solid night at the plate by going 2-for-3 with 2 2B.
Chattanooga did the bulk of their damage in the top of the third inning as they plated five runs to take a 5-0 lead courtesy of a RBI triple from Luke Raley, RBI doubles by Jordan Gore and Mitchell Kranson and a RBI single from Brent Rooker.
The Lookouts tacked on three more runs in the top of the sixth inning after Zander Wiel singled on a ground ball to center field, scoring Kranson and Brian Navarreto. A wild pitch by M-Braves relief pitcher Tyler Pike allowed Luis Arraez to cross the plate, extending the Lookouts lead 8-0.
The M-Braves got on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning after a wild pitch from Lookouts relief pitcher, Williams Ramirez allowed Ray-Patrick Didder to score.
Chattanooga finished off their scoring for the night by adding two insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning when Arraez smacked a two-run ground ball single to left field, scoring both Raley and Kranson.
Lookouts starter, Dietrich Enns (2-5, 4.62) earned the win. Enns tossed 6.0 innings of shutout baseball, struck out eight, and scattered five hits. M-Braves starter, Enderson Franco (5-8, 4.16) suffered the loss.
Mississippi and Chattanooga will meet again on Friday night (August 17th) at Trustmark Park in game four of the five game series beginning at 7:00 p.m. (CST). Mississippi currently leads the series 2-1. Atlanta Braves No. 11 overall prospect, Kyle Muller (2-0, 4.09) will make his debut at Trustmark Park on Friday night. Muller joined the M-Braves on August 6th in the middle of their 10-game road stretch after being promoted from High-A Florida. Chattanooga has tabbed RHP Sean Poppen (5-5, 3.72) as their Friday night starter. Friday night's game will feature Friday Night Fireworks presented by WLBT3 On Your Side (post-game fireworks after every Friday home game).
