
M-Braves Drop Series Finale 7-1 to Trash Pandas

MADISON, AL - The Mississippi Braves (26-31) dropped the series finale 7-1 to the Rocket City Trash Pandas (34-23) on Sunday afternoon at Toyota Field.
The M-Braves took two of six games in the road series.
The M-Braves scored the first run of the game. Riley Delgado led off the game with a single, and Justin Dean followed with a walk. Jalen Miller lined a base hit into right field to bring in Delgado and make it 1-0.
Delgado ranks seventh with a .301 batting average and ninth with a .386 on-base percentage in the Southern League.
Dean reached three times, including two walks and a hit by pitch.
Miller is batting .241 with five homers and 21 RBI. He played second base for the first time since May 17.
Rocket City scored seven unanswered runs in their 7-1 win.
The M-Braves trotted out six different pitchers.
Despite taking the loss, LHP Hayden Deal highlighted the group with 2 1/3 innings of one-run relief, including recording the final out of the first inning with the bases loaded.
RHP Odalvi Javier and RHP Justin Maese each added a shutout inning.
Javier holds a 3.86 ERA in 21 relief appearances with eight walks to 30 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings.
Maese sits at an even 3.00 ERA with 40 strikeouts to six walks in 22 relief appearances.
The M-Braves have a day off before a six-game home series against the Birmingham Barons at Trustmark Park from June 14-19.
