
Lynx Select Tricia Liston and Aysa Bussie with First Two Picks in WNBA Draft

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today selected Duke guard Tricia Liston (12th overall) and West Virginia center Asya Bussie (15th overall) with their first two picks in the 2014 WNBA Draft. Minnesota still has two picks remaining in tonight's draft, the 24th and 36th overall selections. Second and third round coverage of the 2014 WNBA Draft is currently being broadcast on ESPNU.
An Associated Press Third Team All-American and All-ACC First Team performer in 2013-14, Liston led the Blue Devils in multiple categories including scoring (17.2), minutes (31.4), three-pointers (87) and free-throw percentage (.852). The Chicago, Illinois, native finished her collegiate career as Duke's all-time leader in three-point field goals made (252) and three-point field goal percentage (.459). The 6-1 guard also set the ACC single-season free throw record in 2012-13, shooting 93.1% from the charity stripe. Liston and the Blue Devils finished the 2013-14 season with a record of 28-7 and reached the NCAA Tournament.
The Minnesota Lynx bolstered their frontcourt by selecting West Virginia center Asya Bussie with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft. After a medical redshirt in the 2012-2013 season, Bussie finished her Mountaineer career strong gaining Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention and All-Big 12 First team honors. The 6'4" center averaged 12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, helping lead West Virginia to a 30-5 overall record.
