Augusta Lynx News Release
Augusta, GA - In conjunction with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the Augusta Lynx are ringing in the State of Georgia's "Click It Or Ticket" Kickoff Campaign today in a press conference at 1 pm in front of the James Brown Arena.
Along with Augusta's loveable mascot Louie the Lynx, players Louis Goulet and Joe Pereira will be on hand with Georgia's Assistant Director of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety Spencer Moore, and M.A.D.D. Director of State Legislative Relations Nick Ellinger to encourage motorists and their passengers to "Click It Or Ticket".
"Last year 90% of motorists in Georgia wore seatbelts," said Richmond County Sheriff's Deputy Donald McVean. "We're trying to increase that number through this campaign, and patrols are going to increase throughout the CSRA on both the Georgia and South Carolina sides."
For more information on the campaign locally, contact East Central Traffic Enforcement Network Area Coordinator Chief David Hannah at (706) 547-3000.
Louie the Lynx can appear at your school, place of business, or social event too! Call Lynx director of community relations Cari Weaver at (706) 724-4ICE for more information or to book your mascot appearance today.
