Lynx Agree To Terms With Dzieduszycki
September 10, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx will have fans reaching for their pronunciation guides once again, agreeing to terms with forward Matt Dzieduszycki (zhay-du-SHIT-skee) for the 2004-05 Season.
Dzieduszycki, 24, split time between Augusta and the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League last season. In 14 games with the Lynx, the Mississauga, Ontario native notched eight goals and 15 points. He also saw action in 60 games with the Rampage, scoring three goals and 15 points. A late season trade to the Louisiana IceGators put Dzieduszycki in his first post-season action as a pro where he recorded a goal and three points in six contests.
"Matt is a first-line guy, someone who can be a dominating player at this level," said Lynx Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Stan Drulia. "His versatility is also a key, being able to play center and wing. Matt gives us plenty of options for line combinations, and will definitely help this team generate offense."
The 5-11, 185 lb. forward has played a total of 130 games in the AHL in his career, 70 with the Syracuse Crunch and 60 with San Antonio, amassing 15 goals and 37 points in that time. Prior to turning pro, Dzieduszycki played two seasons with the University of New Hampshire in the NCAA, then moved to the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League where he scored 111 points (55-56-111) in 91 games. Following a season with the University of Western Ontario, he turned pro, appearing in his first four games for Syracuse in 2001-02.
The Lynx now have 16 players slated for training camp this year. Along with Dzieduszycki, Steve Munn, Sean Connolly, Terry Marchant, Mark Scott, Jason Saal, Louis Goulet, Todd Bennett, Jarrett Thompson, Treavor Peterson, Lawne Snyder, Dean Jackson, Jeremy Symington, Josh St. Louis, Matt Schmidt, and Lou DiMasi will all be in Augusta when camp opens in October. Full and partial season tickets are on sale now through the Lynx office by calling (706) 724-4423, or stopping by the office at 712 Telfair St. in downtown Augusta. Fans may also purchase season tickets on the team's web site at www.augustalynx.com. Full season seats start as low as $340 each! Or ask for information on the Small Business Plan.
