THE HILLCATS: Lynchburg was off yesterday along with the rest of the Carolina League...Sunday, they wrapped up a short three-game homestand against the Salem Red Sox with a 10-5 victory, taking the series 2-1...INF Joe Leonard led the offense going 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI...Leonard's two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth capped off a five-run rally and put the 'Cats up 9-4...LHP Dimasther Delgado earned the win, completing five innings, allowing four runs, three earned on four hits and three walks while striking out three...The Hillcats are currently in fourth place in the Northern Division at 13-23, 11.0 games back of the Frederick Keys in first place...

VS. FREDERICK: The Hillcats are 6-7 against the Keys this season...This will be the last trip to Harry Grove Stadium for the 'Cats this year, they are currently 4-3 in Frederick...Lynchburg won the first series with Frederick 3-1 at Harry Grove, but has the lost the last three series 2-1...

THREE...IS A MAGIC NUMBER: Four different players, infielders, Joe Leonard, Andrelton Simmons, Joey Terdoslavich and catcher Ryan Delgado, had three hits in the Hillcats' series finale against the Salem Red Sox Sunday, a first for Lynchburg all season...The team as a whole had 13 hits, with Keenan Wiley adding the only other knock...With the 13 hits the Hillcats put up 10 runs, scoring double digits for the the second time in the second half and the sixth time all year...

ROAD WEARY: Lynchburg ventures back out on the road tonight against the Keys in Frederick...So far in the second half, the Hillcats are 5-14 playing away from City Stadium...The offense on the road has been dreadful, getting shut out six times and averaging just 2.63 runs per game (50 runs/19 games)...In Frederick the Hillcats have scored just 20 runs through seven games (2.86 runs/game) and nine of those runs came in the first game they played here back on April 21...

BEST OF THE BRAVOS: Eight members of the Hillcats are ranked amongst the top 30 prospects in the Atlanta Braves organization according to Baseball America...That list includes C Christian Bethancourt (12), SS Andrelton Simmons (15), RHP David Hale (17), RHP Dimasther Delgado (18), OF Todd Cunningham (20), OF Adam Milligan (22), INF Joe Leonard (23) and 2B Phil Gosselin (25)...

WHAT'S NEW: The Hillcats said good bye to RHP Zeke Spruill over the weekend after his promotion to AA Mississippi...Spruill went 7-9 with a 3.19 ERA for Lynchburg and set an all-time Hillcats record with five complete games in a single season...In his first start at AA, Spruill earned the win allowing four runs, three earned through six innings...OF Todd Cunningham is back with the Hillcats...He last saw action with the 'Cats on June 12...And after a brief recall to AAA, Shawn McGill is back with Lynchburg...

40 CLUB: INF Joey Terdoslavich smacked his 40th double of the season Sunday...No one else in the league even has 30...He is 10-for-15 over his last four games, with three doubles, a home run, seven RBI, and four runs scored...Now hitting .281, tied for sixth in the league...

RUNNING WILED: OF Keenan Wiley stole two more bases Sunday night...It was his second straight multi-steal game after stealing third twice on Saturday...He now has three multi-steal games in his career...He has proven to be the most effective base stealer for Lynchburg this year with 16 steals in 19 attempts...He's also swinging a good bat recently, hitting .350 over his last six games (7-for-20)...Currently hitting .284, which would rank sixth in the league but he is still eight plate appearances short of qualifying after being called up from Rome April 25 this year...He'll need to average 3.5 plate appearances over the next 10 games to qualify...

ALL HALE: RHP David Hale had yet another career outing Saturday night for the Hillcats that went unrewarded in the win column...Hale threw his best outing of his career for the second time in just under two weeks, completing seven scoreless innings for the first time in his career and striking out a career-high eight while allowing just three hits but the bullpen blew a 3-0 lead after the seventh...His previous best start came on July 19 when Hale threw his first complete game in 1-0 loss in Potomac...Hale went eight innings, allowed a run on nine hits and took the loss...

TONIGHT'S OPPOSING PITCHER: RHP Ryohei Tanaka was signed as a minor league free agent by the Orioles on April 29, 2009 out of Komatsu City, Ishikawa, Japan...He spent his first two professional seasons in Bowie, and became the first Japanese-born player in Baysox history...He led the Baysox with eight wins in 2010...Transferred to Frederick on May 2 after 6 relief appearances with Bowie...Split time between the rotation and bullpen...Pitched two innings, giving up one hit in relief appearance on May 11...Started June 29...Gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings in no-decision...Currently 7-3 with a 2.83 ERA with Frederick...
