LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, announced that additional handicap accessible seating will be available for the 2007 season. The 2007 campaign will also mark the "25th PCL Season" for the Las Vegas franchise at Cashman Field.

The 51s organization, in conjunction with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, worked closely together to increase the handicap accessible seating at the ballpark. Cashman Field is owned and operated by the LVCVA.

"The work the LVCVA, in particular Tim Cox (Safety Manager/Security Department), and the staff of the 51s have done to implement extra handicap accessible seating at Cashman Field is outstanding," said Thomas Allman, Nevada Disability Projects Coordinator/Rights Advocate. "This is a prime example what can happen when the private and public sector teams up. We have made a facility (Cashman Field) more accessible with individuals with disabilities. The facility has not only complied with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) but will now provide program access with people with disabilities."

A total of seven sections at Cashman Field (Sections 9-15) with selected rows will be retrofitted with the ADA seats. The installation is scheduled for May and will provide fans the opportunity to come out and enjoy exciting professional baseball.

"We are pleased to provide this extra seating for our baseball fans who have disabilities," 51s President and General Manager Don Logan said. "The LVCVA along with our staff did a great job in completing this project to provide more handicap accessible seating."

The 51s, under first-year manager Lorenzo Bundy, will open the season on Thursday, April 5 at Salt Lake City, Utah against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Las Vegas' home opener will be on Friday, April 13 against the Bees at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field. Season tickets and mini-plan packages (10, 20, 33-game plans) are available by calling the 51s office at (702) 798-7825.
