Nashville Sounds News Release

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds will host a slate of 10 high school and middle school baseball games at Greer Stadium this spring, beginning with a doubleheader this Thursday between Fairview Middle and Hickman County Middle.

This spring marks the fifth consecutive year that the team has opened the doors of Greer Stadium to amateur teams. Sixteen different schools will participate in 10 games at the Sounds' home ballpark in 2007.

The 10 amateur games on the 2007 slate at Greer is three more contests than the 2006 schedule played at the Sounds' home park.

The teams participating in games at Greer Stadium also benefit from the Sounds' fundraiser program, in which they raise a minimum of $1,500 for their respective school's athletic budget through the sales of undated 2007 Sounds tickets.

"The schools have found our program to be a great way to get their team excited about a fundraiser which is very important with the shrinking budgets for athletic departments," said Sounds director of marketing and promotions Brandon Vonderharr, who coordinates the team's amateur baseball program.

The complete slate of high & middle school baseball games at Greer Stadium is as follows:
