April 2, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
Bethlehem, PA: In recent news, the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are proud to announce signing the current IFL All-Purpose Yards Leader, WR Joshua Floyd to the 2012 roster. Floyd was recently released by the Steelhawks cross-town rival, the Reading Express.
Floyd, the 2011 IFL All-Purpose Yard Leader for the West Texas Roughnecks, has picked up where he left off last year. In only four games so far this season, Floyd has racked up 742 total yards and 6 tds to lead the league. He was Reading's leading receiver, and is currently the leagues best return man, racking up 602 yds and 2 tds off kick returns, one of which was against the Steelhawks in Week 5.
The Steelhawks have also signed C Jeremy Schonbrunner (6'3 305lbs) from Temple University, recently released by the Philadelphia Soul; and DE Joshua Julmiste (6'6 275lbs) from University of South Florida. So far this year, he has been playing with the Lakeland Raiders of the UIFL where he has recorded 3 sacks in 2 games.
This week the Steelhawks make the short trip to Reading to take on the Express on Saturday night, 7:05pm kickoff. This is another rivalry matchup that will feature the return of many former Express players to the town they once played in. Jeff Willis, Sean Tetreault, and Floyd will suit up for the first time as Steelhawks inside the Soveriegn Center. The game also features the return of Head Coach Chris Thompson making his return to the arena in which he helped Coach the Express for five years.
The Steelhawks will return home to take on Cedar Rapids April 14th. Tickets for the next home game are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Steelhawks front office at 610-282-3100, via the Steelhawks Website (www.lvsteelhawks.com), or by visiting the Stabler Arena Box Office at 124 Goodman in Bethlehem.
