Lunkers End Skid with 6-2 Win over Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Lunker bats came alive on Sunday afternoon, leading to a 6-2 win over the Rochester Honkers at Mayo Field. After failing to score a run in the last 16 innings coming into the game, the Lunkers struck for a run in the Top of the 3rd as a Tommy Reyes single drove in Tyler Wampler from 3rd base.

After the Honkers tied it up with a solo home run from Ryan Hambright, the Lunkers added two in the 5th inning as Dan Olinger and Casey Roche both picked up RBIs.

In the 6th, an Andrew Letourneau groundout drove home Wade Wass. And Tyler Wampler scored after an error from Honker shortstop Devin Thaut. A Steven Brault single drove home Casey Roche in the 7th for the Lunkers sixth run of the game.

Kye Winter had another outstanding outing for the Lunkers, going seven innings, giving up three hits and one run. He recorded his second win of the season. The Honkers Kevin Johnson took his first loss as he falls to (1-1).

The Lunkers and Honkers are back in action Monday afternoon, with Joe Willman getting the start for Brainerd against Alex Alemann for Rochester. First pitch is set for 1:05.
