LumberKings Fall at Home
July 25, 2021 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Clinton LumberKings News Release
The LumberKings finish the week 4-2 after dropping one at home to the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp by a final score of 15-1.
With the loss, the LumberKings still find themselves in first place of the Great River Division in the second half but, with the Quincy Gems hot on their tails, that lead could shrink tonight depending on the outcome between the Gems and the CornBelters.
The Pistol Shrimp highlight the win with a 5-5 performance at the plate from Danny Wuestenfeld, he hits for the cycle at Nelson CorpField and knocks in six runs. He capped off the cycle performance with a grand slam home run in the top of the 7th.
The LumberKings drop to 24-28 (12-11), the Pistol Shrimp Improve to 20-31 (10-11).
The LumberKings are coming down the home stretch of their inaugural Prospect League Season, just four home games remaining in the season. The next home game will be against Burlington on Tuesday, July 25th, first pitch set for 6:30.
