
LumberKings Drop One at Home

The LumberKings dropped one at home to the Burlington Bees at home 3-0 tonight in Great River Division play.
A pitching duel through the majority of the first, the Bees were led by Andrew Long who tossed 7.0 IP in the ball game just giving up two hits and striking out three. He got the win and improved to (2-2). Matt Scherrman got the start for the LumberKings and threw a solid 6.0 IP, he struck out five and gave up just one run on six hits. Scherrman drops to (4-3) on the year.
The LumberKings had a night to forget at the plate only getting three hits in the ball game and not moving a runner past second base in the contest. The Bees had six hits in the ball game and an RBI a piece from their sluggers Jackson Jones and Austin Simpson.
With the win the Bees improve to 21-20 (6-6). With the loss the LumberKings drop to 18-25 (6-8). The LumberKings are back in action tomorrow night with first pitch coming at 7:05 on the road against the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp. After that Friday matchup, the LumberKings will return home for a two game home series with Normal on Saturday and Sunday.
