Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON - On Saturday, November 21, at the L.C. Walker Arena, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are hosting a special "Goodwill Night" to help generate community donations to Goodwill Industries. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., during their game against rival team Quad City Mallards, Goodwill volunteers will be at the arena to collect donations of gently used clothing and other saleable household items. As a special thank you, donors will receive a Buy-One-Get-One-Free Ticket Voucher good toward the following Saturday's game versus the Dayton Gems.
"We depend on the generous donations from the community to support our mission of helping people find jobs," said Goodwill Retail Director James Cherney. "Over 90% of the funds we generate from the sale of these donations goes directly toward funding our employment and training programs. The community demand for our services is at an all-time high so we appreciate the extra support. We are grateful to the Muskegon Lumberjacks for hosting this event."
"All season, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are working at giving back to the community that has supported professional hockey for 50 years. This partnership with Goodwill is another avenue for achieving that goal. We look forward to working with them and helping West Michigan get back to work," said Lumberjacks co-owner Stacey Patulski.
So go ahead and clean out those closets just in time for the holidays! Bring your gently used clothes and other saleable household items down to the LC Walker Arena to help support Goodwill Industries and cheer on the Lumberjacks.
