Luka Samanic Signs 10-Day Contract with Utah Jazz

PORTLAND, ME -Maine Celtics forward Luka Šamanić has signed a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz, it was announced today. Šamanić is the first Maine Celtics player this season to earn a GATORADE Call-Up from the NBA G League to the NBA.
In 44 games played, Šamanić averaged 21.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. In November, Samanic was named Kia NBA G League Player of the Month.
Originally a First Round selection (19th overall) by San Antonio in the 2019 NBA Draft, Šamanić has played in 36 NBA games in his career, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per game. The 23-year-old also played on a Two-Way contract with the New York Knicks last season.
Šamanić becomes the 21st Maine player in franchise history to earn a GATORADE Call-Up.
