Over 3,800 students will be on hand for "Kids Day" today, as the Cotton Kings welcome students from over 15 school districts. The Cotton Kings look to end a three game winless streak and also look for their first home win of the season. The Amarillo Gorillas are making their first trip to Lubbock this season and their first trip under their new nickname.

THE SERIES

Lubbock leads the all-time series 23-7-3, with a 1-0-0 series record this season and an 8-2-1 record last season. Cotton Kings forwards Blaz Emersic and Derek Gauthier each lead all scorers in this season's series with three points each. Lubbock forward Jan Melichercik is the all-time active series leader with 25 points (6g,19a) and ranks third overall all-time against Amarillo behind former Cotton Kings Cosmo Dupaul and Kyle Reeves. THE LAST MEETING

These two squads opened up the season on Oct. 18th, with the Cotton Kings shutting out the Gorillas 6-0. Mike Brusseau stopped all 36 shots on goal for the shutout, while the Cotton Kings out-shot the Gorillas 55-36. Lubbock's offense scored 5 goals in the first period, as Blaz Emersic and Derek Gauthier contributed with 3-point games.

ROSTER CHANGES

Lubbock is without goaltender Neil Savary (knee) and defenseman Derek Holland (ankle), who each remain on the injured reserve list. The Amarillo Gorillas are missing Ben Maidment and Brian Pellerin, who are out do to injury.
