Lowgators Announce 2003-04 Schedule

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (July 19, 2003) â The North Charleston Lowgators of the National Basketball Development League today announced their 46 game 2003-04 home and away schedule. The Lowgators open up their third season in the NBA's development league at the North Charleston Coliseum against the Roanoke Dazzle on Friday, November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. The 2003-04 season concludes on Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, April 9th at the Coliseum.
The Lowgators will be playing 18 of their 23 home games on weekends with seven Friday nights and seven Saturdays highlighting the schedule. In addition to Sunday 5 p.m. games, the Lowgators will also play a 1 p.m. Saturday matinee on January 3rd.
"We are thrilled with our new schedule. Our commitment to affordable family fun is reflected in the dates and times outlined in our upcoming schedule. Our fans have spoken and we are pleased to have been able to respond to their suggestions," Lowgators team president Peter Ricciardi said.
Ricciardi referenced the new starting times of 7:30 p.m. for Friday and Saturday night games, 5 p.m. for Sunday contests, and 7 p.m. for midweek games.
The Lowgators also introduced two new family-priced ticket packages that will accompany the full season ticket plans that have been available since early spring. Both of the new mini-plans offer discounts to kids, students, members of the military and seniors. Adult mini-plans begin at $75 with kid and senior mini-plans available for as little at $39.
"Seeing the NBA players of tomorrow just got more convenient and more affordable," Ricciardi concluded.
The NBDL has also announced its post season format for the 2003-04 campaign. The playoffs will consist of the top four seeds advancing to a single-elimination tournament format after a regular season champion has been crowned. The top seed at the conclusion of the regular season will host the fourth seed, while the third seed will travel to the arena of the No. 2 seed. The winners of those two games will play for the post-season title at the arena of the highest remaining seed.
Individual game tickets, ranging in price from $7.50 for children to $13.50 for adults, will go on sale this fall. Season tickets and mini-plans are currently available by calling (843) 460-1000.
