Pawtucket, RI (Sports Network) - Louisville starter Matt Belisle and four relievers held Pawtucket batters at bay, yielding just one run, as the Bats knocked off the Red Sox, 5-1 Tuesday night.
Belisle evened his record at 5-5, allowing the lone Paw Sox run on five hits in 5 1/3rd innings. Ryan Wagner, Mark Watson, Scott Randall, and Aaron Myette combined to allow just three hits, closing out the final 3 2/3rd innings. Myette earned his fifth save.
Dionys Cesar drove in a pair of runs, and Jim Chamblee scored twice for the Bats. Jermaine Clark chipped in with a solo home run, while Kenny Kelly doubled and scored a run, as Louisville improved to 28-30.
Tim Kester dropped to 5-4. He allowed four runs on four hits in 5 2/3rd innings. Carlos Febles went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Pawtucket, who fell to 28-31.
The series resumes tomorrow night at 7:05 PM (ET).
