Louisville City FC News Release

LOUISVILLE - Louisville City FC found themselves back in the league win column after Saturday's 2-1 thriller over Atlanta United FC 2. LouCity forward Cameron Lancaster scored his fifth goal of the season before a penalty from forward Ilija Ilic in stoppage time helped seal the home win. City's win puts them second in the USL standings with an extra game to play heading into Saturday's crucial contest against first-place FC Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium.

Lancaster's goal edges him closer to No.1 on City's all-time goalscoring charts and puts him T-3 in the league on the year behind Swope Park Rangers' Kharlton Belmar (8) and LA Galaxy II's Efrain Alvarez (6).

Before Saturday night's Dirty River Derby, however, City have a midweek date with Saint Louis FC set for 7:00 p.m. at Lynn Stadium in the Third Round of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup. The match, which has been officially deemed a "King's Cup" match between supporters, will see one of the pair move on to the Fourth Round of the competition where MLS clubs make their entrance.
