Lousiville, KY (April 30, 2015) - As one of four unbeaten teams in USL, Louisville City FC (2-0-3 9 Pts) will attempt to make it six straight games with at least one point to open the season when they travel east to Charlotte for a 7:00 match-up with the Independence. The Charlotte Independence (0-2-2 2 Pts) are sitting near the bottom of the table, but Louisville City head coach, James O'Connor, pointed out that it's the result of more misfortune than bad play.

"Charlotte's a good team," O'Connor said. "They've been unlucky not to win. So, it will be a big challenge for us."

Other than a 3-0 loss to Richmond, Charlotte has been right there to win every game. The Independence started the season with a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Charleston, and were on the wrong side of a 1st half penalty against Wilmington in the 1-1 draw with the Hammerheads. Following the match with the Kickers, Charlotte played to another 1-1 tie with the Harrisburg City Islanders. Ryan Finely gave Charlotte the lead in the 19th minute with his second goal of the season, but the Islanders would equalize in the 54th. Despite Charlotte out-shooting the Islanders 13-9, they would not find another goal and the match would end level.

Louisville City FC will go into Saturday's match-up in much better form, following a 2-0 win over Tulsa. It was a match in which Lou City was forced to play a man down for 35 minutes after Charlie Adams was given a straight red for a tackle in the 55th minute. Louisville City FC will have to play without Adams for the second time this season, this time for disciplinary reasons. The loss of Adams will have an impact, but coach O'Connor knows his team can handle it after he saw what they did last Saturday.

"We've got really good players," O'Connor said. "We're definitely seeing some of the things we want to see and I'm really pleased with the players. They've been tremendous."

Louisville, who has played to a 1-1 draw in their first two away matches, will be looking for their first road win in franchise history when these two clubs meet up at Transamerica Field on Saturday. The match will be streamed live HERE.

Lou City will then return home on May 12th for a match versus the Wilmington Hammerheads. Single game tickets are available at www.louisvillecityfc.com/tickets and the following match versus Toronto on May 19th is part of the 5-Match Pack, which is available at www.louisvillecityfc.com/tickets also.

Louisville City FC is a professional soccer team founded in 2014 and will begin its first season in USL in March, 2015. The United Soccer League was founded in 2010 and has expanded to 24 teams for the 2015 season. Louisville City FC will play all home matches at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville.
