Wilson Harris scored for the second straight week, and Louisville City FC turned the tables on San Antonio FC in a rematch of the 2022 USL Championship Final.

The difference? Whereas San Antonio won last year's game at its home Toyota Field, LouCity was backed Saturday by a season-high 11,589 fans at its home Lynn Family Stadium. They reached a crescendo in the 23rd minute when Harris headed in Enoch Mushagalusa's cross from the left wing, keying a 1-0 victory that capped a tragic week in town.

Both teams' captains wore orange armbands - a color widely used to raise awareness for gun violence - and the club held a pregame moment of silence to honor lives lost in a tragic recent shooting. Louisville's community has banded together, including the capacity crowdthat stopped by Lynn Family Stadium earlier Saturday to donate blood.

"We talked about in the locker room about inspiring tonight - about not taking a moment for granted," said LouCity coach Danny Cruz. "You look at the collective of this community and how everybody's come together in a difficult moment - constant support. I heard the blood drive went well, so just something else for us to be proud of as a club and community.

"It was just a special night all around."

LouCity (4-2-0, 12 points) has now won three straight games across USL Championship and U.S. Open Cup play by 1-0 scores. The victories served as a strong response to a hiccup in form earlier this season, when the boys in purple dropped back-to-back matches by an 8-0 aggregate score.

Defender Sean Totsch scored the game-winner April 5 as LouCity defeated neighboring Lexington SC in the Open Cup's Second Round. Harris converted last weekend against Detroit City FC, then again Saturday when he redirected his header to the back post.

Thanks to Harris' finishing touch, LouCity managed to win despite taking a season-low four shots against San Antonio FC (3-1-2, 11 points), which entered the weekend previously undefeated.

"I think we came out with a good energy and good game plan," said midfielder and team captain Paolo DelPiccolo. "We were obviously more calm than in the final, when we gave up a penalty a couple minutes in. I thought we were on the front foot from the start.

"I'll also say the atmosphere here's incredible. It makes a different. We talked about it in the press before the season started - home field advantage - and it is an advantage."

LouCity controlled more than 60% of the game's possession leading up to its decisive goal. On the other end of the pitch, rookie goalkeeper Oliver Semmle saved both shots on target he faced, including a 93rd-minute chance from distance he parried away before the final whistle.

"We have a special group," Mushagalusa said. "We've had our ups and downs. That's normal in football. It's just about finding that (rhythm) and you keep going...We've just got to keep working and being ready. Games are easy. Trainings are harder. That's where we put in the work."

With its win, LouCity sits second on the Eastern Conference table six games into the 2023 campaign. Next up is a top-of-the-table clash at the Charleston Battery, who are unbeaten under new coach Ben Pirmann, formerly of Memphis 901 FC.

LouCity kicks off in Charleston at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday.
