Louisville, KY (July 20, 2015) -- With the team coming off their fourth straight win, Louisville City FC announced today that the club has signed Kevin Cossette, a midfielder from Montreal, Canada. Cossette, a former Montreal Impact player, joins Louisville City after a standout career at Laval University.

"We are delighted to have Kevin here with us in Louisville," Louisville City head coach James O'Connor said. "He will bring flexibility to our left side as he can operate at left back or left midfield. His pace will also cause teams problems."

Cossette started his professional career in 2009 where he made 18 appearances and scored three goals for Trois-Rivieres Attak of the Canadian Soccer League. From there Cossette entered the Montreal Impact Academy. In 2010, he made 18 appearances for the Academy team and hit the back of the net twice during that spell. He then went to the Montreal Impact's first team, where he made his debut versus the Rochester Rhinos. He went on to play a total of three matches for the, at the time, NASL side.

After one season in the Impact's academy, Cossette enrolled at Laval University. In his final season with Laval, the midfielder scored two goals and dished out five assists in 12 games for the team that finished second in it's division. Now the 25-year old will be looking to be another strong contribution to a club that finds themselves just two points out of second place in the USL Eastern Conference with eleven games to play.

Cossette will be available to play in this weekend's match versus the Wilmington Hammerheads. The first time he will be available to play at home will be August 5th versus FC Montreal. Fans can purchase tickets to this match by visiting www.LouisvilleCityFC.com/tickets.

Louisville City FC is a professional soccer team founded in 2014 began its inaugural season in 2015. The United Soccer League was founded in 2010 and has expanded to 24 teams for the 2015 season. Louisville City FC will play all home matches at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville.
