
Los Angeles Lightning announce head coach

Los Angles, CA - The Los Angeles Lightning, an expansion team in the International Basketball League, announced today that Ron Quarterman will be the team's Head Coach. Originally from Chicago, Quarterman has been coaching in the LA area for over 15 years. Recently, Quarterman has coached in the ABA, as well as at Pierce College and Burbank High School.
Lightning General Manager Mark Harwell comments - "I think we are very fortunate to have Ron on board. Not only is he extremely qualified but he is a great human being. He has been an influence in the community for many years and will be a wonderful addition to our organization."
Coach Quarterman's philosophy and approach to the game of basketball is simple: work hard everyday on your game, keep your fundamentals of the game sharp, and always play the game the right way.
Commenting on his new position, Quarterman said - "I'm very excited to be coaching the Los Angeles Lightning. I think our fans will find the International Basketball League's style of play very entertaining and fun to watch."
