GALAXY LOOKING TO GET BACK ON WINNING SIDE: After a tough week that saw the Galaxy drop two games, the club is aiming to get back to its winning ways this Saturday, May 20 when it hosts Western Conference rival the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The game will be broadcast live on Primeticket, oCA$H 1700 AM (English) and KMXE 830 AM (Spanish). In the midst of a three-game losing streak, the Galaxy now sit tied with Colorado for third place in the Western Conference with a 2-5-1 record and seven points. Colorado enters the game with a 2-3-1 record and seven points.

GALAXY DRIVE SERIES CONTINUES WITH CHILDREN'S BOOK DRIVE: Team up this Saturday, May 20 with the Galaxy and help provide new children's books to students in the Los Angeles area through the Galaxy's Get a Kick Out of Reading program. Get a Kick Out of Reading is a bilingual literacy program that uses the sport of soccer to deliver positive messages about the value and fun of reading to kids and families. Donors receive a Galaxy Drive Series voucher for $5.00 off the gate price of a Galaxy ticket for special select games. On May 20, collection booths will be located outside the Southwest Entrance and on the north side (near lot 13) of The Home Depot Center. Books may also be dropped off at the Galaxy Foundation booth located on the man concourse.

JUST LIKE 1997 FOR SAMPSON AND LALAS: Galaxy President & General Manager Alexi Lalas and Galaxy head coach Steve Sampson will take part in the El Reto Final Nissan on May 21 at 6:00 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center. El Reto Final Nissan is a reality television series currently airing on Fox Sports En Espanol exploring the history of the Mexico-United States soccer rivalry. On May 21, Sampson will lead a specially selected team of U.S. players like Lalas, Jeff Agoos, Tab Ramos, Eric Wynalda, Tomas Dooley and John Harkes against Bora Milutinovic's Mexican team featuring legends likes Carlos Hermosillo, Roberto Zague, Joaquin Del Olmo, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Luis Garcia and Luis Hernandez.

WORLD CUP LEAVES GALAXY SHORTHANDED: Galaxy forward Landon Donovan and defender Chris Albright are now with the U.S. National Team in Cary, NC as they are training in preparation for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. The United States opens play in the World Cup on June 12, and the tournament runs until the July 9 final, meaning Donovan and Albright could miss at least 11 Galaxy games if the U.S. advances to the final game. Galaxy forward Cornell Glen will also miss time away from the club, as he will be participating in the World Cup with Trinidad & Tobago. Glen sat out Trinidad & Tobago's 1-1 tie with Peru May 10 due to an injury, but is expected to be ready to play in an exhibition against Wales on May 27. T&T are the smallest nation ever to qualify for a FIFA World Cup final and will have their work cut out in Group B alongside England, Sweden and Paraguay at the finals next month.

NEW ADDITONS TO THE GALAXY: The L.A. Galaxy made a trade Friday, May 12, sending midfielder Ned Grabavoy and forward Joseph Ngwenya to the Columbus Crew in exchange for midfielder Kyle Martino and forward John Wolyniec. Both Martino and Wolyniec played for the Galaxy Saturday, May 13 after arriving in to Los Angeles early Saturday morning.

THIAGO MAKES HOME DEPOT CENTER DEBUT: Thiago De Souza, a Brazilian forward signed by the Galaxy on April 6, 2006, made his Home Depot Center debut on Saturday, May 13 against Real Salt Lake, entering as a substitute in the 76th minute. De Souza, who previously played for Germany's Borussia Dortmund, has now appeared as a substitute in the Galaxy's past three matches.

FIRST OF 2006: Galaxy midfielder Michael Enfield made his first start of 2006 and the third start of his MLS career on May 13, playing 57 minutes before coming off for a substitute. The second-year forward has now appeared in nine total MLS matches.

MARTINO MAKES HIS MARK: After joining the team in a trade late in the evening on Friday, May 13, midfielder Kyle Martino rushed from the airport in Columbus to Los Angeles, where he arrived early Saturday morning. Despite having no practice time with the squad, Martino started and played 90 minutes as a midfielder and forward. It was the third-year pro's first appearance for the Galaxy.

WOLYNIEC GETS STARTED QUICKLY: Forward John Wolyniec joined the Galaxy Friday evening in a trade with the Columbus Crew that included teammate Kyle Martino. Wolyniec early Saturday morning, but quickly jumped into the Galaxy starting lineup and played 90 minutes at forward. It was his first start of 2006 and first start since September 17, 2005 when he played in a 2-1 loss to Chicago. Wolyniec sent three shots on the Real Salt Lake in his first game as a member of the Galaxy.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Galaxy forward Landon Donovan is still tied atop MLS for the lead in assists with four...Defender Ugo Ihemelu leads MLS with 720 minutes played...The Galaxy lead the league with 134 fouls suffered...The Galaxy have allowed the most goals so far in 2006 (14).

GALAXY VS. COLORADO RAPIDS: The Galaxy defeated Colorado in the Western Conference Championship in 2005 en route to winning the MLS Cup Championship...The Galaxy own a 23-13-4 all-time record against Colorado, although the teams split the regular season series in 2005...The Galaxy have out-scored Colorado by a whopping 70-42 since 1996...Cobi Jones leads the Galaxy with 12 goals against Colorado.

LOOKING FOR THE BACK OF THE NET: The Galaxy has struggled to score recently, and is in the midst of a 300-minute scoreless streak. Los Angeles last scored a goal in the 60th minute of a 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake on April 29 when Herculez Gomez found the back of the net. Since then, the Galaxy have been shutout in three straight games and outscored 8-0 in that span.

HISTORIC HOME DEPOT CENTER LOSS: The Galaxy lost 3-0 to Real Salt Lake on May 13 at The Home Depot Center. The Galaxy's three-goal defeat marked just the second time in club history the team had lost 3-0 at The Home Depot Center. The MetroStars were the first team to win by three goals at The Home Depot Center on June 23, 2004. Real Salt Lake's win on May 13 was the first road win in club history.

HARTMAN BACK IN GOAL: The Galaxy's all-time leader in just about every goalkeeping statistical category, Kevin Hartman, was back in goal for the Galaxy on May 13. Hartman did not play in the Galaxy's 1-0 loss to FC Dallas on May 10 and also missed the Galaxy's 3-2 win April 29 against Real Salt Lake. Hartman and third-year pro Steve Cronin have now alternated the Galaxy's last four games. Hartman has now started and played in 113 of the Galaxy's last 116 regular season matches.

GALAXY PROMOTIONS: Saturday, May 20 is another exciting night at The Home Depot Center as the Galaxy host the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Youth Jersey Night. May 20 is also a Galaxy Family Pack Night and a featured game of the Galaxy Stars Program.

- Youth Jersey Night: Fans who purchase four or more tickets at the gate price will receive two Galaxy youth jerseys, and fans who buy a group of 15 or more tickets will receive one Galaxy jersey for every youth in the group. Jerseys are limited to the first 5,000 eligible tickets purchased through the Galaxy front office.

- Galaxy Stars Program: Pre-registered members of the Galaxy Stars program can pick up a rally scarf at the Galaxy Stars booth.

- Family Pack Night: The Galaxy vs. Rapids game is also a Family Pack Night, where a family of four can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for a special low price of $64. Galaxy Family Packs are on sale until Wednesday, May, 17.

2006 L.A. GALAXY TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS: The L.A. Galaxy are pleased to announce that the Galaxy Clasico II adult soccer tournament and Copa LA V youth soccer tournament will both be returning to the San Bernardino Soccer Complex in 2006.

The second annual Galaxy Clasico II will take place on May 20th and 21st, and will see competitive teams in the Men's and Women's Open Divisions, as well as friendly competition in the Men's Over 30, Over 40, and Over 50 divisions, plus the Women's Over 30 division. The Men's Open Division will play for a cash prize and the chance to be seen Galaxy scouts will be in attendance.

The fifth anniversary of the Copa L.A. V tournament will again take place over Memorial Day weekend from May 27th - 29th in San Bernardino. Besides playing in a first class tournament at a great facility, participants will also have fun enjoying the sponsor booths and gifts, appearances by Galaxy players, and many other elements sure to create the memory of a lifetime for all those in attendance. More than 100 teams are expected, so sign up early to reserve your spot.

GALAXY DEPORTIVO BREAKS DOWN ALL THE ACTION SATURDAY: Galaxy Deportivo, The weekly, half-hour Spanish language television show devoted to the Los Angeles Galaxy, can be seen this Saturday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. on KWHY - Channel 22. Galaxy Deportivo, hosted by Los Angeles area personality Elmer Polanco, can be seen at the same time each and every Saturday on Channel 22.
