The Great Lakes Loons have announced a partnership with Citadel Broadcasting Company, Inc., which will make WHEELZ 101 (WYLZ-FM 100.9) the club's flagship radio station for the 2007 inaugural season. The club has also announced the hiring of Brad Golder as the team's play-by-play broadcaster and Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.

WHEELZ 101 will be designated as the Loons' flagship radio station and will broadcast all regular and post-season games. As part of the agreement, the Loons and Citadel Broadcasting Company, Inc. will enjoy a mutual marketing and promotional relationship, giving the Loons a large presence on WYLZ and its sister stations, WILZ, WKQZ, WHNN and WIOG. In addition to the WHEELZ 101 broadcast, Loons fans will be able to access live broadcasts via the Loons website www.loons.com.

"We are thrilled about our partnership with Citadel Broadcasting Company, Inc. and having WHEELZ FM as our flagship radio station," said Loons' President and General Manager Paul Barbeau. "With a large audience, strong signal and highly-recognizable presence in the Tri-Cities area, WHEELZ 101 is the perfect partner for our inaugural season."

"We're very excited because the Loons will be the hottest ticket in town, and Dow Diamond will be one of premiere stadiums in the country," said Citadel Broadcasting Company, Inc. Regional Vice President and General Manager Scott Meier. "The Loons brand of family entertainment is a great match with the WHEELZ 101 FM audience."

Brad Golder, 25, will be the Loons' first play-by-play broadcaster and will serve as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Brad is responsible for all aspects of the radio broadcast and will manage all media communications for the Loons. He comes to the team from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, where he was the Operations Manager and performed on-air duties including post-game show host and reporter. Previously, Brad served as play-by-play broadcaster of the Nashville Sounds and the Vanderbilt University baseball team. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in political science.
