Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons will host Inclusion Day, sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, at Dow Diamond on Sunday, July 31st during their game against the Lansing Lugnuts, beginning at 1:05 p.m.
The Loons and Corteva Agriscience find common ground as organizations dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive gathering place for all fans regardless of age, gender, physical ability, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation gender identity or gender expression, military status, and national origin.
Inclusion Day will celebrate bringing together every demographic possible to promote inclusion, diversity, and equity in our community. Additionally, the event will serve as an outreach to our community business partners and non-profit organizations who support inclusion activities within the Great Lakes Bay Region.
Community groups from around the Great Lakes Bay Region will be present on the concourse providing information and awareness around the services they offer. These organizations include:
City of Midland Parks & Recreation
Midland Area Community Foundation Cultural Awareness Coalition w/ We Hear You Coalition (WHY)
Disability Network of Mid-Michigan
Ennis Center for Children Regional Resource Team (DHHS)
Family & Children's Services LGBTQ Compass Groups
Midland County Special Olympics
Midland Educational Service Agency (ESA)
Midland's Open Door
Midland Public Schools

Corteva Agriscience will again partner with Midland's Open Door to include a non-perishable food & personal hygiene items drive as part of this year's event. All items for donation can be dropped off at the fireplace on the main concourse behind home plate and will be distributed across local community pantries and shelters.
Following the game, fans are encouraged to attend an exhibition game between Middle of the Mitt Miracle League and Great Lakes Bay Miracle League on the Dow Diamond playing field. The game gives athletes with cognitive or physical disabilities the opportunity to play a game at Dow Diamond just like the Loons. The game also serves as a celebration marking the conclusion of the inaugural season of play at Miracle Field in Midland, a facility supported by grants from the Michigan Baseball Foundation, the Great Lakes Loons, and community partners throughout the region.
The Great Lakes Loons have been the Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers since the team's inception in 2007. Dow Diamond serves as the team's home and also houses the Michigan Baseball Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, and ESPN 100.9-FM.
