Great Lakes Loons News Release
EASTLAKE, OH - The Midwest League Eastern Division Championship Series will wait at least one day to begin.
Rainy conditions in Northern Ohio forced the postponement of Saturday's scheduled first game in the best-of-three Midwest League Eastern Division Championship Series. Rains increased in intensity following the national anthem and prior to the start of the game to force a delay. The rainfall eventually slowed but never stopped and the field was deemed unplayable.
The series now will begin Sunday at 1pm at Classic Park. Game 2 has been pushed back to Monday night at 7:05pm at Dow Diamond, with Game 3 played Tuesday night at 7:05 at Dow Diamond, if necessary.
Fans that purchased tickets to Game 2 originally scheduled for Sunday at Dow Diamond can use those tickets to gain admittance for Monday's game.
Sunday's game will feature the same pitching matchup scheduled for Saturday, right-hander Josh Wall (9-7, 4.24 ERA during the regular season) for the Loons and lefty Giovanni Soto (9-7, 2.93) for the Captains.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 100.9-FM and online at Loons.com.
Tickets still are available for Monday's scheduled game at Dow Diamond. The game will feature a Chemical Bank Dollar Family Feast Night, with $1 prices on hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches and 16 oz. Coca-Cola products.
The Great Lakes Loons are a fourth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
