September 14, 2021 - Southern League (SL)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
The Chattanooga Lookouts could not hold on to an early lead in their 6-4 loss to the league-leading Mississippi Braves. The Lookouts remain three games back of the Birmingham Barons for a playoff spot.
In the first inning, the Lookouts found themselves down one when Lorenzo Cedrola tied the game up on a solo home run. They took the lead later in that inning when Byrd Tenerowicz smacked a solo shot of his own to make it 2-1.
Mississippi retook the lead in the third, but the home team tied it up at three in the bottom of the fourth on another home run, this time by outfielder T.J. Hopkins.
Three innings later the Braves continued their offensive barrage, smacking an RBI single and a sacrifice fly to make it 5-3. Chattanooga cut the deficit down to one in the bottom of the seventh, but could not overtake Mississippi.
Tomorrow, the playoff hunt continues for the Lookouts. Game time for Chick-Fil-A Wednesday is at 7:15 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
