Lookouts Fall to Biscuits, 9-3

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped the opening game of the series to the Montgomery Biscuits, 9-3, on Tuesday night from AT&T Field.

Montgomery (49-47) got the scoring started by scoring four unanswered runs to start the game. Chattanooga (46-57) got one across in the second thanks to an Alex McGarry solo shot over the center field fence to trim the lead to three.

The Biscuits took no time answering putting up four runs in the top of the third to make the lead, 8-1.

The hosts put up one in the fifth thanks to an Elly De La Cruz double and Daniel Vellojin had an RBI double in the ninth to bring the final to, 9-3.

Nick Quintana led the Lookout offense with a 3-for-4 day with a double. Vellojin was the only other Lookout with multiple hits going

2-for-4 with a double and RBI.

Ricky Salins (3-4) got the start and loss on the mound pitching two innings allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits, four walks and struck out a batter.

Osleivis Basabe paced the Biscuit offense with a 2-for-5 day with a double and two RBIs. Joe LaSorsa (2-0) got the win for the guests pitching 2.1 innings in relief giving up just a hit and striking out a batter.

The two teams meet again on Wednesday at AT&T Field beginning at 7:15 p.m.
