Lone Stars Win One on the Road

El Paso- The Lone Stars used 10 receptions and 2 touchdowns by TJ Glover in his first game ever with the team to run up a 66 to 20 win over the El Paso Rumble Saturday night. Glover caught the first 6 passes thrown by Tommy Miller and proved to be a playmaker in place of the recently departed Joe Koroma.

Anton Paige added three second half touchdowns and the Lone Stars improved to 2 and 2 on the season.

Tommy Miller played the first three quarters without even hitting the turf. He finished the game completing 18 of 27 passes for 236 yards and 5 touchdowns. It was his first game in which he did not leave with an injury.

The game was close at the half, Lubbock leading 20 to 6, but in the third quarter the Lone Stars came out on a tear scoring on their first 3 positions. Pierre Campbell helped the Lone Stars run the clock with his 5 carries for 35 yards and one 22 yard touchdown.

Robbie Jenkins came in at Quarterback late in the game a hit 4 of 6 passes for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Lone Stars Defense also improved after a tough outing last week. This time they held the Rumble to just 208 yards of total offense and swiped two interceptions both in the end zone.

El Paso falls to 0-4 in the league and remain in dead last. The Lone Stars improved to 2-2 and remain in fourth behind the Dusters and Hammerheads, who play tonight, and the Stampede who beat Odessa Saturday 36 to 33.

The Lone Stars will hit the road again for a trip down to San Angelo to take on the Stampede.
