Lone Stars v. Dusters, an Offensive Explosion

August 3, 2004 - Intense Football League (Intense)
Lubbock GunSlingers News Release

The Lubbock Lone Stars have been known to throw some big points up on the scoreboard averaging 58 points per game. This weekend they'll face the only team in the IFL that has managed to become more of an offensive showcase.

The Amarillo Dusters are averaging 61 points per game tops in the league. Every time the Lone Stars and the Dusters have met up on the field they've set the record for the most combined points in an IFL game.

In fact the only time the teams, who have met 3 times, have not scored over 135 combined points was in the first game of the season. In that game the teams combined for 107 points, a league record for only one week.

In the second game between these to offensive juggernauts the teams ran up 136 points in Lubbock. That mark would stand as the league record for just two weeks until the two teams would meet again in Amarillo.

In the third game the Duster and Lone Stars wound up scoring a whopping 156 combined points in an 82-74 win for the Dusters. The most any other two teams have combined to score this season is 155, 1 points less then the current IFL record.

For fans who want to see an offensive explosion check out the Dusters and Lone Stars Saturday in Lubbock with a 7:05 kickoff.
