Lone Stars Make Roster Moves
August 5, 2004 - Intense Football League (Intense)
Lubbock GunSlingers News Release
Lubbock- The Lone Stars roster for this weekend's game with the IFL's top team, Amarillo, will look much the same as last week. Only one change on the roster this week, but it's an important one.
The Lone Stars will bring back All-Star defensive back Anthony Dalton at just the right time. The Dusters have the leagues highest scoring offense and a plethora of talented receivers. Anthony Dingle, Jimmy Gaston, and Charles Davis are an explosive bunch and have rarely been slowed by any combination of defenders.
Dalton, who is one of the team leaders in picks and pass deflections, had been sidelined for the last month with a deep thigh bruise. Trainers had no idea how long it would take to heal but left him off the able to perform list an extra week or so to make sure he was 100%.
The Lone Stars will sit speedy wide receiver and kickoff return specialist Adrian Perez to make room for Dalton's return. Perez lined up at the wide-out position several times last week but failed to catch any passes. Perez returned 5 kickoffs for 74 yards and almost broke a couple of those for touchdowns.
The Lone Stars can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Amarillo Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7:05 in Lubbock.
