
Lomsnes and Michaud Earn Weekly Honors

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - Corpus Christi IceRays forwards Tanner Lomsnes and Wes Michaud were honored by the North American Hockey League as Star of the Week Honorable Mentions for their play during the team's weekend set against the Topeka RoadRunners.
Lomsnes was second on the team in points with one goal and two assists in two games against the RoadRunners. He earned his first IceRays point with an assist on Travis Howe's first period goal and a goal in the second period of Friday's 4-3 shootout loss. He also added a shootout goal in the third round to give the IceRays a 2-0 lead in the shootout at that point. Two days later, Lomsnes would add another point to the weekend with an assist in the second period of Sunday's 5-2 loss.
Michaud led the team with four points on the weekend, including one goal and one assist in each game. In Friday's loss, Michaud also assisted on Howe's first period goal as well as scored the game-tying goal with 17.3 seconds remaining in the third period to send the game into overtime. On Sunday, the alternate captain's second period power play goal gave the IceRays a 2-1 lead in the second period, their first lead of the 2014-15 season.
Topeka forward Daniel Rzavsky earned South Division Star of the Week for his goal and two assists to help lead the RoadRunners to a weekend sweep of the IceRays. Odessa forward Kenny Hausinger earned Second Star of the Week.
The IceRays open their North American Hockey League Showcase schedule Wednesday, September 17 against the Kenai River Brown Bears at 1:30 p.m. with coverage starting at 1:15 p.m. with Countdown to Faceoff on FASTHockey.com.
