THIS SEASON
With losses at home vs. Macon and on the road vs. Orlando, the Loggerheads are still searching for the first win in franchise history. The team currently has an 0-3-0 record.
IN THE COMMUNITY
· Tuesday, November 19th, the Loggerheads participated in the Great American Teach In at Carlton Palmore Elementary, Wahneta Elementary and Eagle Lake Elementary schools. Loggerheads players Rob Miller, Chad Peck, Carl Poissant and Garrett Dionne were on hand to read to students and talk about life as a professional hockey player. The day had been set aside for community members to become involved in the school system in an effort to raise awareness about public education.
MAKING WAVES
· Jeremey Vokes returned to the lineup of Friday vs. Miami and notched an assist on Chris Cerrella's first goal of the season
· Stephane Desjardins returns to the line up after missing the first 3 games of the season.
· The Loggerheads signed free agent center Dru Burgess. Burgess, 5'11", 195 lb., is a 6th year pro and native of Hamilton, Ontario. Thus far in his pro career, Dru has amassed 104 goals and 122 assists for a total of 226 points in 244 games played.
"Dru is a terrific addition to our team," Tony Zappia, Loggerheads Vice President and Coach said. "He's a smart player who is good with the puck, makes good decisions and isn't afraid to play in traffic."
The Loggerheads will look to Burgess to be another weapon at even strength and a go-to guy on the power play.
FLEX PACKS
The Loggerheads are offering their fans three unique Flex Plan options. The first is a Ten-Game package with randomly selected games throughout the season. The second is a seven game "I-4 War" pack that features all of the Loggerheads home games vs. the Orlando Seals. The third option is a five game plan that allows fans to choose any game they like from the Loggerheads home schedule. For more information, please contact Judy Jones at 863-834-7814.
