LAKELAND, Fla. – The Lakeland Loggerheads will be honoring the members of the Headquarters Company of the 2nd Battalion, 116th Field Artillery and the 495th Transportation Company on Monday, March 1st with a special "Patriot's Night" promotion.

The members of the Lakeland based National Guard Post recently returned from service in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The first 500 fans will be given American flags and there will be a special on-ice presentation to the troops.

"We're honored to be able to do something nice for the soldiers and their families," said Loggerheads President Rick Ladouceur. "We wanted to show how much we appreciate their sacrifice and dedication to protecting our freedom."

In addition to the on-ice festivities, the box office will be offering $2 off the regular admission prices to anyone with a military ID.

The Loggerheads will face off with the Miami Manatees, Orlando Seals, Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas and the Macon Trax in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games will be broadcast on www.irn.fm.
