Local Talent Returns to Barnstormers

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have re-signed wide receiver Brady Roland to the 2017 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.
Roland (6-0, 185, Grand View) returns to the Iowa Barnstormers for his third season with the team and in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Roland played 4 years at Grand View University where he started in 47 games earning 214 receptions for 3,549 yards and 32 career touchdowns. Roland joined the Barnstormers roster in 2015 following his collegiate career. Last year, Roland started in all 16 games finishing the season with 95 receptions for 1,086 yards and 22 touchdowns.
At the conclusion of the 2016 season, Roland earned league honors being named to the First Team All-IFL. This is the second recognition Roland has received from the IFL, being named to Second Team All-IFL in 2015.
"Signing Brady is huge for our organization," said Coach Wooten. "We are getting back one of the top receivers in the league. Brady brings that veteran 'lead by example' type of player to the team and his example is being first team all-IFL. Players like Brady do not come a dime a dozen, so I'm excited to have him on the roster."
As an Iowa native, Roland is happy to pursue football in his home state and play in front of family and friends. Roland remains involved in the community throughout the off-season, participating in several events and youth programs.
"I'm excited to be back for my third season with the Barnstormers," said Roland. "I look forward to getting back to work and winning a lot of games this season."
