KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The KCK RBI foundation has announced that the Wyandotte County 3&2 Baseball Stadium will be named after T-Bones hitting coach Damian Rolls in a dedication event on May 2, 2010.

A native of Wyandotte County, Rolls played youth baseball at the field before attending F.L. Schlagle HS in Kansas City, KS. In 1996, Rolls was selected as a first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the amateur draft. After making his major-league debut with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on September 3, 2000 against the Kansas City Royals, Rolls spent parts of the next five seasons at the major-league level with Tampa Bay. On June 23, 2003, Rolls connected for two home runs against Roger Clemens in a 4-2 Devil Rays victory over the New York Yankees.

"I can't say it's a dream come true, because you never dream about something like this," said Rolls. "It's an honor of a lifetime and an unreal feeling."

Rolls appeared in 90 games with the T-Bones last season, hitting .294/.386/.461 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. In January, Kansas City manager Tim Doherty named Rolls hitting coach for the 2010 season.

The dedication event is currently scheduled for May 2. The senior boys baseball division, for ages 16-18, has also been named the Damian "D" Rolls Division. For more information on the event, and to learn more about the KCK RBI foundation, visit http://www.kckrbi.org

Kansas City will host exhibition games against Kansas City Kansas Community College on May 11 and 12. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. The T-Bones begin their 2010 campaign against the RailCats in Gary, IN on May 20 and will host the defending champion Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in their home opener on May 28 at 7:05 p.m. Single-game and season ticket packages are available now by calling 913-328-5618.
