Pensacola Pelicans News Release
Six Santa Rosa Medical Center physicians provided voluntary physicals to the Pensacola Pelicans on Saturday. With time and resources restrained, Drs. Kronlage, DeCampos, Althar, Young, Whitman, and Rinaldi completed the physicals on a Saturday morning eliminating any interruption in practice time.
"This is our way of giving back to the community" stated Kronlage. "The physicals were completed with the highest of quality and free of charge". With specialists ranging from general, orthopedics, and EENT surgeons to optometry and family practice, the team of physicians thoroughly screened each player helping to ensure a season with minimal medical problems.
The Saturday morning physicals were essential due to a busy spring training schedule for the Pelicans. The Pelicans are practicing every day on the field of Pelican Park, with additional batting practice taking place every other day. Monday through Friday the Pelicans hold a full practice beginning at 5 p.m., while Tuesday and Thursday see the Pelicans taking batting practice at the Pelicans Training Academy at ten in the morning. This Saturday features a full practice at Pelican Park at 10 a.m., and a Coaches Radio Show broadcast on location at Famous Dave's Barbecue at 1 p.m. Sunday at 5 p.m. the Pelicans hold a full practice at Pelican Park. Spring Training runs right up until Opening Day on May 14th.
Pensacola Pelicans individual game tickets are now available by contacting the Pelicans via phone at (850) 934-8444 and online at www.pensacolapelicans.com. Pensacola-area Circle K locations are selling Pelicans tickets as well.
