Wichita Stealth News Release
Wichita, Kan. - arenafootball2 and the Wichita Stealth announced today that wide receiver/defensive back Brian Livingston was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Arkansas Twisters this past weekend.
Livingston (6-2, 205, Grambling) had nine unassisted tackles, one assisted tackle, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions, one of which he returned 18 yards for a touchdown. This is the first award of the season for Livingston and the second for the Stealth.
The former defensive specialist was moved to a two-way player two weeks ago after the Stealth suffered some injuries. In his two games as a two-way player, Livingston has caught nine passes for 98 yards and one touchdown. He also has added two rushing touchdowns. Defensively, he has compiled ten solo tackles, six assisted tackles, one pass defense, and three interceptions.
Although this is his first award of the 2003 season, Livingston is no stranger to af2 awards. Brian was named to the All-af2 first team in 2000 at the defensive specialist position with the Jacksonville Tomcats.
Livingston's award marks the fifth time that a Stealth player has been named a weekly af2 award winner. Earlier this season, Lee Vaughn captured the same award for his performance in week #4. Willie Grissom was named Ironman of the Week after week 6 in 2001 and Zack Siegrist was named Co-Player of the Week after week 9. Chris Enneking was named Built Ford Tough Player of the Week after Week 15 during the 2002 season.
