Lions Trade for Offensive Lineman Tim Bakker, Release Kellett

VANCOUVER, B.C. June 14, 2003 – BC Lions General Manager and Head Coach, Wally Buono, today announced the acquisition of offensive lineman Tim Bakker. In exchange for Bakker the Lions dealt a conditional draft pick in the 2004 Canadian College Draft to the Edmonton Eskimos.

The 6'4", 300-pound Bakker is a native of Oakville, Ontario. Baker played the last three seasons for the Eskimos, after being drafted in the first round (third overall) in the 2000 CFL Canadian College Draft. In his rookie season in 2000, he played in 11 games for the Eskimos. He then played in all 18 regular season games for the Esks in both 2001 and 2002, giving him a career total of 47 games played in the CFL.

Before arriving in Edmonton, Bakker played his college ball for the University of Western Ontario Mustangs.
