Columbus Lions News Release
Columbus, GA (Jan. 28, 2008) - On Monday, the Columbus Lions of the AIFA helped solidify their offensive line for the upcoming 2008 season with a familiar face by re-signing offensive guard Monreko Crittenden (6'4", 350).
After going undrafted in 2004, the former Auburn Tiger signed as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens where he would spend two seasons with the club. This will be Crittenden's second season with the Columbus Lions, he spent last season leading the Lions to a WIFL regular season championship and was one of the anchors in producing the WIFL's leading rusher, Eugene Goodman. While at the University of Auburn, this former three-year All SEC starter was part of an offensive line that produced back-to-back 1,000 yard rushers his last two seasons .
"We are excited to have Monreko back this year to anchor the offensive line. Anytime you can sign a NFL caliber player, you are in good shape", says Head Coach Jason Gibson. "His continuous leadership and dedication on and off the field is what sets him apart from the rest."
Crittenden and the rest of the Columbus Lions will be kicking off their home schedule on March 22nd; it's still not too late to purchase your season tickets. Contact the home office at 706-322-3DEN or email us at jason@columbuslions.net to purchase your tickets for as low as $56.
