Columbus Lions Rebrand & Land New Head Coach

COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Lions held a press conference today Tuesday, September 13 at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, GA. The conference not only introduced fans & media to the new logo of the Columbus Lions a modern enhancement created by Mike Jones that honors the Lions past as well as shows a modern influence the Lions future direction. The press conference also introduced serval new front office hires as well as the introduction to a new member of the Lions ownership group Jeff Levack who previously served as the NAL Champion Albany Empire's team president. Levack was also the 2022 NAL Executive of the Year who helped the franchise to three championship seasons in four years.

Most importantly, the Lions introduce their new head coach Chris McKinney to further showcase the teams new direction for 2023 and beyond. Coach McKinney becomes the second head coach in Columbus Lions history and previously served as the defensive backs coach to the Albany Empire. McKinney also served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Jersey Flight (2021) and head coach of the Cape Fear Heroes of the American Arena League (AAL) in 2019. In his combine coaching career that began in 2013 he has served as a coach in the Arena Football League (AFL), AAL, and NAL. His experience coaching the arena game will have a huge impact on the Lions this year and future seasons.
