COLUMBUS, GA (April 11, 2015) - In a seesaw battle featuring eleven lead changes the Columbus Lions (3-0) of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) extending their undefeated start to the 2015 season in a 47-43 road victory over the Richmond Raiders (1-3).

It was a night full of firsts. Not only did Saturday's victory give Columbus their first road win in Richmond in four tries, but more importantly gives the Lions their first 3-0 start in franchise history.

The game featured eleven lead changes with the final two taking place in the game's final minute.

Following a Raiders touchdown that put them up 43-41, on the ensuing drive and only 18 seconds remaining Columbus rallied on one play when QB Casey Kacz hooked up with WR Terrence Ebagua for a 40-yard game-winning TD score.

Picking up his second consecutive start, Kacz picked up where he left off last week completing 22 of 38 passes for 301 yards and seven touchdowns with Ebagua once again being the top receiving target hauling nine receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns, all coming in the second half.

Coming into the game with only one interception, the Columbus secondary picked off Richmond QB Jonathan Bane two times including a 4th quarter interception by former Raider and current Lion DB Roshawn Marshall. Bane ended the night completing 24 of 46 passes for 261 yards and five touchdowns.

"Momentum wise, it was important for us to pick up this road win in Richmond," says Head Coach Jason Gibson. "I thought if we were 2-1 or better after three game we would be in real good shape, I respect Coach Fuller and his team and just happy to sneak out with a road win."

Next Friday the Raiders close out their current three-game home stand in another rematch, this time with the Trenton Freedom (2-1). On Saturday the Freedom rebounded from their loss to the Lions in the previous week in a 75-23 smashing of the Erie Explosion (0-2).

Columbus returns home for a two-game home stand beginning next Saturday with a meeting against the Nashville Venom (1-2). Over the weekend, the Venom dropped their second game of the season in a 55- 52 contest to the Hammers that saw them miss a potential game tying field goal that would have forced overtime.

Next Saturday is 'Lupus Awareness Night' with the Lions wearing commemorative purple jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game with all proceeds going to support Lupus Awareness. Kickoff is 7:00 PM and for ticket options contact the Lions front office at 706-322-3336 and stop by www.columbuslions.net/solider-salute to nominate the USAA Solider of the Night.
